Are you feeling alone? Call the Life Valuation Center (CVV) at 188. These were the phrases guiding the debate on “Life Valuation”, promoted by Prati-Donaduzzi, on Tuesday (17), during the activities regarding Yellow September in company. It is the first year that the pharmaceutical company draws attention to Suicide Prevention Month.

The activity was coordinated by the nurse of the Psychosocial Care for Children and Youth Center (CAPS I) of Toledo, Alana Silva de Ramos.

During the chat, the nurse encouraged participants to contact the CVV if they were very sad and thinking about the possibility of suicide. According to her, at the Life Valuation Center, the team will be ready to assist in the moment of crisis and even encourage him/her to seek the nearest Emergency Unit (UPA). “Generally, if you go through the impulse phase, you regret it and go back”, Alana said.

She also emphasized the importance of parents being aware of their children's behavior. "If it is hot and the child is wearing long-sleeved shirt, it may be evidence of self-mutilation and cuts."

Numbers

There is all this concern around the issue, because according to the World Health Organization (WHO), every 40 seconds, one person commits suicide in the world. In Brazil, 17% of Brazilians have tried to kill themselves. Such issue is still surrounded by many taboos and one of the best forms of prevention is through dialogue.

The employee, Maiza Rosa de Jesus, from the Registration Department, participated in the lecture. "The guidelines were of great importance to know the best way of helping people, who can sometimes be a friend or even a family member."

Service

Suicide is a complex issue and besides a shoulder to cry on, it is important to seek professional help. One of the ways of seeking care is through the Basic Health Units (UBS).

“The gateway to the host is the UBS. There, the person will receive technical assistance and then sent to one of the services that make up the Mental Health Network”, said Lauana Voss, Coordinator of Alcohol and Drugs Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS-AD) of Toledo.

For the Coordinator of Toledo Mental Health Clinic, Neuza Simón, all services are offered free of charge through the National Health System (SUS). “Only in the Toledo Mental Health Clinic, we provide care for about 6,000 patients with moderate mental disorder. We have a multidisciplinary team to assist them”, she concluded.
